Team A: best win is over the #1 team in the nation, and reigning national champions with 8 scholarship players
Team B: best win is over a Kentucky team who is more inconsistent than any team in America, because of the 8,000 freshmen they play who aren't on the level of John Wall or Cousins
Team A: worst loss is to their in-state rival, who on their worst day still is a 5-8 team in a much tougher conference than the SEC
Team B: worst loss is to a Northest Conference team 98% of anyone who ever watches college bball didn't know exists
The RPI is terrible why anybody would use that as a tool for judging teams I'll never understand. Yes, I know the NCAA uses it but really, do you guys think it's legit? As for this debate, I seriously doubt Alabama could stay within ten points of VT on a neutral floor.
I hope they draw each other in the 1st round.
Of the NIT.
Yep, thats a great win for VT. A good win over the RPI top 50. VT is lucky its such a good win, its since its ONLY WIN over the RPI Top 50.
And VTs worst loss happened a week ago, Alabama's was in December.
A UK team with wins over Notre Dame, Louisville, Washington, Florida, etc.. is such a **** team, the committee might as well just not even count that as a win for Alabama. 22 says they are inconsistent, so it must be true. Or maybe inconsistent teams dont win all those home games in a row.
And the comment about VT/Bama on a neutral court is absolutely laughable, considering you haven't even seen Alabama play this year. Yeah, no way they stay within ten, even tho they are a terrible matchup for VT with the size inside and in your face constant pressure.
God I hope they match these two teams up in the tourney. If you are willing to give me ten points, we'll put some money on it. Cause thats absurd.
Having watched both teams, the reality is they are pretty similar. VT is a little better offensively, but Bama is better defensively IMO.
They are, they are very close in terms of talent and skill. Im not saying VT couldnt win or wont win, but saying they beat Bama by at least ten, especially if you havent seen Alabama play, is wrong.
Bama gives up around 50 ppg, ten points is HUGE. VT has a ton of skill, especially outside, but Bama is big and physical inside with Green and has great, swarming defenders on the wing.
My apologies. Look at it wrong on ESPN apparently.
and Bama just sh*t the bed...
